This evaluation measures a candidate’s proficiency in speaking and understanding their second language. The Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR), a UK federal entity that coordinates and disseminates data regarding language-related activities, created guidelines that ApexLingo used to create this evaluation.

The test is totally given in the intended language, and it is recorded for analysis, training, and quality assurance purposes.

Evaluation of Interpretation Skills: Available in Over 20 Languages

Our Interpreter Skills Evaluation measures a candidate’s ability to translate messages with a medical topic between their two working languages. It also evaluates their knowledge of medical terminology.

The test is conducted over the phone in 20–40 minutes and covers:

  • English translation into the target language
  • English translation from the target language of the interpretation
  • Medical terms in both languages


Following testing, we deliver the results to the client within three business days.
